  • The homeowner wanted to change the back door on their home and had always felt like the original install was not done very well.

  • During our initial inspection, there were some obvious signs that there would be some water issues. Notice the failing caulking where the trim meets the siding, the broken pieces of siding, and the mushrooms growing around the door.

  • It was no surprise that the inside of the home had some obvious signs of water penetration as well…

  • Bigger questions arose once the entire back side of the home was inspected.

  • The original siding and windows were not installed properly and there was water penetrating through to the sheathing in multiple areas. As a result, there were dry rot issues that needed to be addressed.

  • Upon further inspection, it was determined that the windows needed to be pulled and reset correctly, and the home would receive new house wrap and new siding on the sides where the issues were predominant.

  • With a trustworthy house wrap system in place, we were getting ready for the new siding to go up.
