Double Addition

BEFORE
A small dark kitchen left the homeowner feeling isolated from the rest of the family and the rest of the home while preparing meals. The dream was to “open” the kitchen and bring in as much natural light as possible.

DURING
With plenty of space to grow, we decided to add nearly 600 square feet onto the home by making two main additions. We would enlarge the kitchen by stretching into the back yard an additional 18 feet from the original back of the home, and the guest bedroom would call for a separate addition to become a full master suite.

DURING
With a clean slate and a clear vision, the home was ready for a drastic makeover. The space pictured above is where the kitchen used to be.

DURING
Vaulted ceilings in the kitchen and dining area will contribute to the spacious feel of the new floorplan.

DURING
While designing an addition, the goal is to create aesthetic beauty while ensuring that each area of the home flows and functions from one space to the next – inside and out. The gables off the back create interest to the home, and the roof line is reconfigured to tie everything together nicely.

As the finish work is underway, the homeowner gets to see the entire vision come to life.

AFTER
The new master bathroom shower includes a waterfall tile accent, a built-in niche with two shelves, clear glass pivot shower door, and a handheld shower arm along with a fixed shower head.

AFTER
The vanity backsplash incorporates the same accent tile we used in the shower.

BEFORE
The existing hallway bathroom was going to need some upgrades to ensure that the color palette and overall design would be consistent throughout the entire home.

AFTER
Two separate washing stations makes this bathroom more functional for a growing family. We incorporated rectangular undermount sinks for a more modern feel and installed a beautiful luxury sheet vinyl to update the floors. The simple quartz countertops with matching backsplash keeps this bathroom feeling simple and clean!

BEFORE
Since the original kitchen only had one small window that peered into a low covered patio, there was no way to know that the home sat upon acres of beautiful landscape.

AFTER
With a large center island and an abundance of countertop space, there is plenty of room for the whole family to interact while meals are being prepared. By installing a nine-foot long window above the sink, we have created a space that connects the inner and outer beauty of this property.
